Off We Go to China

OFF WE GO!

Bright and early tomorrow morning, Friday, March 21, first day of spring, Jim and I board the plane in Minneapolis, heading first to Detroit, then to Beijing, then on to Wuhan, China.  We leave at 10 am and arrive in Wuhan Saturday evening at 7:35, including a 13 hour time advance.

Our bags are almost packed and the various chargers and cords located. Boarding passes printed, visas and passports at the ready. So I think we are set to go.

Jim has been invited to teach an intensive short course at the Protestant Seminary in Wuhan for two weeks. I am going to tutor students in English.  We visited the seminary building last year during our China tour, so have some idea where we will be. We will be staying at the Qingjiang Hotel in Wuhan.

It is a bit more daunting than going on a tour. We don't speak Chinese, have no one to smooth the way for us when we are puzzled, but at least we know we will be met at the airport. So that is a start.

I'll post photos and impressions as often as I can. I think we will have good internet connections, so check again, and often!

May God go with us.

  4. Carolyn and Jim, Your brothers and sisters in Christ throughout the NALC are praying for you both. May you be as blessed as those you are blessing through your wisdom and grace. We are praying for receptive hearts and minds. While Kristi and I pray for you daily, I have been including you in the prayers of the church wherever I am speaking.
